Zamalek board member Hani Zada expressed his happiness that the club was drawn into a group with Arab teams Al-Ahli Tripoli and USM Alger in the CAF Champions League

“The draw is balanced, we have a good record against Arab teams,” Zada told reporters after the draw. “Last year we defeated MO Béjaïa and Wydad Athletic Club.”

“All the teams are strong after winning the league in their country, we will meet immediately with coach Augusto Inacio to start preparing for the competition,” added Zada.

Furthermore, he spoke about how they will provide Zamalek with everything that they may need, and they will get in touch with the teams in their group to facilitate easier travel to their countries.

Zamalek lead group B, and they will face off against Zimbabwe Premier League champions CAPS United, USM Alger of Algeria, and Ahli Tripoli of Libya. The first round of group fixtures will start on May 12.
