Al Masry have renewed Hossam Hassan’s contract as he continues to manage the team for the third year in a row with his contract running until summer 2018.

Hassan led the Port Said-based team last season to a fourth-place finish in the Egyptian Premier League. They qualified for the CAF Confederation Cup before crashing out in the round of 32 against KCCA on penalties.

Hassan, 50, signed a one-year contract extension in presence of president of the club Samir Halabia, after all parties settled on the contract’s new terms.

Al Masry currently sit in fourth place in the Egyptian Premier League on 43 points, three points behind third-placed Zamalek.

The Green Eagles, who suffered a 1-0 defeat against Zamalek earlier this week, are set to face Al Ismaily on Friday at 7:30 PM in their quest to tighten the gap on Zamalek for third with a game in hand.
