Tunisia managerial hunt has come to an end after Nabil Maaloul agreed to become the national team head coach on Thursday.

The 54-year-old has been appointed as the Tunisia national team manager to succeed Polish manager Henryk Kasperczak, who was sacked couple of weeks ago.

The Polish manager was sacked after the national team was eliminated in the quarter-finals of the 2017 Africa Cup of Nations last January, however, he managed to lead Tunisia to top Group A in the 2018 World Cup qualifiers, after beating Libya and Guinea.

Maaloul has previously managed Tunisia in 2013 for just seven months and also the Kuwaiti national team. He has also a record at club level, managing Espérance Sportive de Tunis, and Qatari side El-Jaish SC.

It’s worth mentioning that Eagles Of Carthage were drawn in Group J of the 2019 AFCON qualifiers alongside Egypt, Niger, and Swaziland.

Maaloul’s first game in charge will be against the Egyptian national team on Tuesday, June 6 in Tunisia.
