The Malian sports minister cancelled the dissolution of the Malian football association, just a month after the FIFA council decided to suspend it.

The Bureau of the FIFA council, on the 17th of March 2017, decided to suspend the Malian Football Association (FEMAFOOT) from all competition after Mali Sports Minister Housseïni Amion Guindo dissolved the executive committee of the FA.

Mr. Amion Guind dissolved the executive committee of the federation and then appointed an interim committee, which made the FIFA council suspend the FA, and as a result to this suspension Al Masry qualified to the Confederations Cup Play-off round, which they lost to KCCA.

However, after the FIFA decision Guindo cancelled his decision and the President of FEMAFOOT Boubacar Baba Diarra regained his office.

The ban would soon be lifted and all the Malian clubs and national teams, can take part in international competitions.
