Salah features as Roma lose Derby della Capitale
Egypt international Mohamed Salah featured in his side’s 3-1 loss to arch-rivals Lazio in Derby della Capitale in the 34th round of the Italian Serie A.
The Giallorossi entered the game knowing that they need a win to have a realistic chance of winning the league title, as leaders Juventus dropped two points at Atalanta last Friday, but they couldn’t come on top against their rivals.
Senegal international Keita Baldé Diao opened the scoreline after only 12 minutes, before Daniele De Rossi equalised from the spot just before half-time.
Five minute into the second-half, Dušan Basta put the visitors ahead, then Keita scored his second of the game in the 85th minute, ending Roma’s league title hopes.
The loss means that Roma will stay second in the league with 75 points, nine point behind league leaders Juventus, with only four games remaining.
Roma’s next game will be against sixth-placed A.C. Milan on Sunday, May 7 at the San Siro, while Lazio will host Sampdoria at the Stadio Olimpico on the same day.
