Mohamed Youssef has been named new head coach for Petrojet replacing Hassan Shehata after his recent resignation.

Former Egyptian national team legendary coach Hassan Shehata lately resigned from his post as Petrojet manager after a series of disappointing results. The 67-year-old led the Suez-based club in only 10 matches with an overall record of three wins, three draws and four losses.

Youssef returned to Egypt after he parted ways with Iraqi side Al-Shorta ending his second spell there. The former Al Ahly manager and 2013 CAF Champions League winner will take charge after the team’s next league match against Sharkia. He will also be choosing his technical staff members in the next few hours.

Petrojet will be Youssef’s fourth team to coach after managing Al Ahly, Al-Shorta two times and Smouha. He began his coaching career as an assistant for Al Ahly coach Hossam El Badry in 2009. After El Badry ended his second spell in 2013, the retired defender was appointed team manager for the remaining of the 2012/2013 season and was later given the job on a permanent basis.
