Al Ahly CAF Champions League round of 16 opponents Zambian side Zanaco FC assured that they do no fear any teams in their group.

The Red Devils were drawn in group D alongside Morocco’s Wydad Casablanca, Cameroon’s Coton Sport, and Zambia’s Zanaco. Al Ahly will start their Champions League group-stages on Saturday, May 13 against the Zambian side, who were crowned Zambian league champions last season.

“The draw is very fine and this time around the Arabs are beatable. So we have no pressure, we saw them when they came to play Zesco United last year,” said Zanaco assistant coach Dabid Chilufya. “We have experienced players in the team who play for the national team and those who have played outside.”

The Lusaka-based club will be playing two matches in the league before traveling to Egypt to meet the Cairo giants.

It is worth mentioning that CAF named the 2017 Glo CAF Referee of the Year Bakary Gassama to officiate the match.

In addition to being a hardcore football fan, Abdelrahman is a communications enthusiast who works in marketing, advertising, content creation and PR.
