Al Ahli managed to secure second place in the league and a strong chance to qualify for the AFC Champions League next season.

Al Nasr’s loss against Hilal contributed as well to Al Ahli finishing second with 55 points, 11 points behind Al Hilal and three ahead of Al Nasr.

Al Ahli got ahead on the 25th minute with a goal from Muhannad Asiri who also scored their second goal on the 59th minute.

Jehad Al Hussain scored Al-Taawoun’s first goal as the team continued to attack but couldn’t manage to overturn the score.

Al Ahli are set to face Persian club Zoh Ahan Esfahan FC on Monday May 8th in the AFC Champions League group stage.

Meanwhile, Al Wehda have officially been relegated to Saudi League One after losing the game against Al-Fath 2-1. They end their Professional League campaign with 17 points.

This relegation means that the future of Torric Jebrin and Sherif Hazem who are on loan from Ismaeily and Ahmed Magdy who’s on loan from Entag is uncertain. Same goes for Al Wehda’s manager, Adel Abdelrhaman, who’s future is still undecided as well.
