Tarek Yehia resigns as El-Gaish manager after Al Ahly defeat
Tarek Yehia has resigned from his post as Tala’a El-Gaish manager following their league loss against Al Ahly on Thursday.
The 55-year-old announced his resignation on Facebook, following four league losses in a row against Zamalek, Petrojet, Ittihad of Alexandria, and Al Ahly.
Yehia replaced Ahmed Samy as El-Geish manager last January when the team was 6th in the league, but only three wins and three draws in 12 games under his management made them team drop to 10th, 36 points behind league leaders Al Ahly.
El-Gaish currently sit 10th in the Egyptian Premier League after 27 rounds, and their next game will be against Entag El-Harby on Tuesday, May 9 at El-Salam Stadium.
It’s worth mentioning that Yehia has previously managed a number of Egyptian clubs including Ismaily, El-Maqqasa, El-Masry, Tanta, Sharkia, Entag El-Harby, and has also had a spell in charge of Saudi side Hajer.
