EXCLUSIVE | Chelsea scouts monitoring Egyptian-owned Lierse star
English Premier League giants FC Chelsea have gone scouting at Egyptian-owned Lierse S.K ahead of a potential move for one of their players.
Blues scouts were present at the Herman Vanderpoortenstadion to watch Lierse S.K. beat Union St.-Gilloise in their Europa League qualifying group.
The representatives were present to monitor one of their star players, namely Belgian wonderkid Manuel Benson, KingFut can confirm.
The 20-year-old winger has attracted plaudits following his scintillating performances during Lierse’s unlucky push for promotion this season.
The player has so far recorded seven goals and eight assists in 35 matches for Lierse, and he was lucky enough that Chelsea scouts were present to watch his breathtaking assist [video below] against St.-Gilloise.
Lierse lie 4th in their group, level on points with third-placed St.-Gilloise. St. Truiden lead the group with 13 points, level on points with second-placed K.V. Mechelen with three matches left to decide the group winner.
