The final draw for the 2017 Men’s Youth U-19 World Championship in Georgia and the Men’s Junior U-21 World Championship in Algeria was announced on Wednesday by the International Handball Federation.

The Men’s Youth World Championship will be held in Tbilisi from 8 to 20 August. Egypt has been drawn in Group A along with reigning champions France, Denmark, Bahrain, Sweden and Norway.

“Group A and D are the most challenging groups. But it is a world championship and you never know how the teams perform. In addition, this is a youth world championship and we don’t know yet how strong the teams actually are,” said Per Bertelsen, Caretaker Chairman of the Commission of Organising and Competitions (COC).

As for the Men’s Junior World Championship which will be held in Algeria, the teams will face each other from 18 to 30 July. Egypt has been drawn in Group B along with France, Denmark, Qatar, Slovenia and Sweden. “There’s no group I would consider a so-called Group of Death,” Bertelsen added.

In addition to being a hardcore football fan, Abdelrahman is a communications enthusiast who works in marketing, advertising, content creation and PR.
