Alexander Jakobsen’s Viborg FF closer to avoiding relegation
Viborg FF were able to win their first double legged fixture in the relegation playoffs of the Danish Super League after beating AC Horsens 3-1 on aggregate.
Egypt international Alexander Jakobsen, who was recently called up by national team head coach Hector Cuper to join the team’s cup, was in Viborg’s starting lineup.
Even though the club lost 1-0 against AC Horsens, Jakobsen and his teammates won the fixture on aggregate as they managed to beat Horsens in the home match 3-0. Horsens dominated the game and were close to scoring more than one goal on several occasions but VFF’s defense line were able to stop such threats.
The victory offers the club an opportunity to avoid relegation as they will be facing the winner from AGF and Esbjerg FB on May 22. Esbjerg drew with AGF in the home match 0-0.
