Cuper calls up 10 Pharaohs abroad for Tunisia clash

Egypt national team head coach Hector Cuper announced the 10 Pharaohs abroad who will join the team’s squad for the match against Tunisia.

The Pharaohs are set to play against Tunisia to kick off their qualification road to 2019 Africa Cup of Nations in Cameroon. Both teams have been drawn in Group J, alongside Niger and Swaziland.

FC Basel’s Omar Gaber rejoins the list after he was excluded from Egypt’s squad for Togo friendly. PAOK’s playmaker Amr Warda and Wigan’s Sam Morsy were also included in the list.

The Argentinian coach excluded Denmark-born Alexander Jakobsen for technical reasons even though he was called up for the team’s last training camp back in March. Also, Ahmed Hassan Koka was excluded due to his injury.

Defenders: Mohamed Abdel-Shafy (Al Ahli), Karim Hafez (), Ahmed Elmohamady (Hull City), Omar Gaber (FC Basel)

Midfielders: Mohamed Elneny (Arsenal),  (Stoke City), Amr Warda (PAOK FC), Sam Morsy (Wigan Athletic)

Forwards: Mohamed Salah (Roma), Mahmoud Hassan Trézéguet (Anderlecht)

The Egyptian national team will start their training camp on the 4th of June following Al Ahly’s and Zamalek’s clashes in , before they travel to Tunisia.

In addition to being a hardcore football fan, Abdelrahman is a communications enthusiast who works in marketing, advertising, content creation and PR.
