El-Said highlights difficult conditions after beating Cotton Sport
Al Ahly midfielder Abdallah El-Said said that beating Coton Sport was very important for the team assuring that players went through harsh conditions in Cameroon.
The Red Devils temporarily took the lead in Group D in the CAF Champions League after defeating Cotton Sport 2-0 in Garoua, Cameroon.
El-Said pointed out that he and his teammates managed to overcome tough conditions during the match represented in high temperature, humidity and a bad pitch. “All these factors affected players during the match of course,” El-Said added.
He also mentioned the team’s persistence to win was the number one reason that helped players beat Cotton Sport. “We went to Cameroon with only one goal which was winning the match and earn our first three points,” he said.
The 31-year-old player said that his substitution in the second half came after he felt little pain in the rear muscle. The staff wanted to make sure that the injury does not evolve and decided to substitute him. He will undergo medical tests as soon as the team returns to Cairo to know the extent of his injury.
