El-Ghanam officially announces retirement from basketball
Al Ahly basketball legend Tarek El-Ghanam has officially retired from the game after an illustrious 20-year professional career.
The 38-year-old has announced his retirement after a meeting with the club’s team sports supervisor Marwan Hesham, and the sport activities director Assem El-Saadny.
El-Ghanam has revealed that he wanted to retire after the 2016 Africa Clubs Champions Cup, which his club hosted last December, but the injures that hit the team delayed his decision until the end of the season.
The basketball legend has won more more than 20 trophies with the Red Devils, including five league titles, eight domestic cups, and three continental trophies.
