Libya side Ahli Tripoli have managed to catch Zamalek on the top of Group B, after beating Zimbabwean club Caps United 4-2 away from home in the third round in CAF Champions League.

The Libyan club settled for a 0-0 draw against Zamalek in the preceding round after they had received a 0-3 defeat from USM Alger in their group opener.

Sameh Derbali gave Talaat Youssef’s side the lead after 17 minutes off the penalty spot, before doubling their lead over the Zimbabwean side few minutes later through Salim Abalo. In a one-to-one chance with the goalkeeper, Mouayed Ellafi managed to put game to bed by scoring the third goal, and finally Derbali scored his second of the day and the fourth for his team. Ronald Pfumbidzai and Hardlife Zvirekwi scored the two goals for the hosts.

Zamalek still have the chance to go three points away on the top of the group when they face USM Alger on Friday.
