Smouha’s Soliman out for six months with ACL tear
Smouha’s El-Mahdy Soliman is set for up to nine months on the sidelines after the goalkeeper tore his anterior cruciate ligament, the Alexandrian club has confirmed.
The 29-year-old sustained the injury during his side’s training camp ahead of their crucial encounter with Sudanese side Al-Hilal El-Obeid in the CAF Confederation Cup.
Soliman is the sixth Smouha player to tear his anterior cruciate ligament this season after Mahmoud Sayed, Omar Saad, Mahmoud Ezzat, Mansou Kouakou, and Ahmed Temsah.

The news will come as a huge blow to the Blues, who are preparing to face Al-Hilal El-Obeid in the CAF Confederation Cup group-stages on Saturday, June 3 in Alexandria.
Smouha currently top their group with three points after two rounds, while the Sudanese side sit second only on goal difference.
