CAF have revealed their Champions League team of matchday 2 and it included two Egyptians players from giants Al Ahly.

Matchday two of the CAF Champions League group-stages saw Al Ahly defeat Cameroon’s Coton Sport in Garoua, while their arch-rivals Zamalek’s encounter with Al Ahli Tripoli ended in a 0-0 stalemate.

The best XI squad included Sherif Ekramy, who helped Al-Ahly keep their fourth Champions League clean sheet in a row. The Red Devils started their African campaign with an 1-0 aggregate win over South African side Bidvest Wits, then drew with Zambian side Zanaco 0-0, before defeating Coton Sport 2-0.

Hossam Ashour also featured in the best XI after a decent performance against Coton Sport, which made Héctor Cúper call him up to the Egypt squad that will face Tunisia this month.

The Egyptian Premier League champions currently top their group by goal difference, and their next Champions League match will be up against Morocco’s Wydad Athletic Club on Sunday, June 4 at Borg El-Arab Stadium.
