Augusto Inacio rues missed chances in draw

Augusto Inacio

Inacio claimed after Zamalek’s draw against USM Alger on Friday that his side are still suffering from the same problem: not converting easy chances.

Speaking after the match, Inacio said, “We will continue working because in matches like these we can’t be having this problem. We failed to score from at least four clear chances but USM Alger scored from half a chance.

“I took a gamble with the substitutions in the second half but we still didn’t convert the chances we had that could’ve helped us win,” he added.

“USM Alger didn’t have any chances in the first half, but in the second half they had many chances to win due to the attacking risks we took.

Inacio was concerned with the number of instances that USM Alger medical staff were on the pitch, which he claimed was not less than 10 times.

“The referee gave 6 minutes of stoppage time but we only played two minutes. The referee also called off a goal wrongfully for Zamalek. The game in Algeria is going to be tough for both teams,” Inacio concluded.

Zamalek are top Group B with five points, one point ahead of second-placed USM Alger, as well as third-placed Ahli Tripoli. CAPS United are fourth with three points.
