Zambian forward Emmanuel Mayuka was not disappointed with Zamalek’s draw with USM Alger in the CAF Champions League on Friday night.

Mayuka on hand to rescue the Whites, scoring a 90th minute equalizer to secure an important point that maintained Zamalek’s lead in Group B.

Mayuka came on as a substitute for Fatouh just 15 minutes before the final whistle, in a a gamble from manager Augusto Inacio, and opened his account for this campaign in memorable fashion.

Mayuka believes a draw was not a bad result for his side: “I thank God and all my teammates for my late goal. USM Alger is a strong team that can’t be taken lightly.”

He also added, “The result isn’t that bad, maybe the loss of focus was the reason behind missing all these chances but we will try to win our next match against them in Algeria.”

Zamalek’s away fixture against USM Alger is scheduled for June 21, at the Stade du 5 Juillet.
