Meteb included as Al Ahly name squad for Wydad encounter

Al Ahly manager Hossam El-Badry announced his 24-man squad for their match against Wydad Casablanca in the CAF Champions League on Sunday.

The Red Devils will host the Moroccan side in their third match of the CAF Champions League group stage at Borg El-Arab Stadium in Alexandria.

Al Ahly midfielder Abdallah El-Said returned to the squad after missing his side’s game against Misr El-Maqassa in the Egyptian Premier League through injury.

Veteran striker Emad Meteb, who was left out of Coton Sport encounter, was also included in the squad.

Al Ahly squad:

Goalkeepers: Sherif Ekramy, Ahmed Adel, and Mohamed El-Shennawy

Defenders: Saad Samir, Ramy Rabia, Mohamed Naguib, Ahmed Fathi, Sabry Rahil, Ali Maaloul, Hussein El-Sayed and Ahmed Hegazy

Midfielders: Hossam Ashour, Amr El-Sulaya, Saleh Gomaa, Hossam Ghaly, Abdallah El-Said, Momen Zakaria, Mido Gaber, Karim Nedved, Walid Soliman, and Ahmed Hamoudi

Forwards: Junior Ajayi, Amr Gamal, and Emad Meteb

The Red Castle, who were most recently crowned Egyptian Premier League champions, currently top Group D on four points, ahead of second-placed Zanaco on goal difference, after drawing with the Zambian side and beating Coton Sport of Cameroon.

The Moroccan side sit third with three points after beating Coton Sport and losing to Zanaco.
