Salah’s agent denies AS Roma winger travelled to Liverpool
Mohamed Salah’s agent, Ramy Abbas, has denied reports claiming that the AS Roma winger has recently travelled to Liverpool, insisting that Salah hasn’t left Egypt since the end of the season.
Several news reports over the past week have suggested that Salah is close to joining Liverpool, with a number of sources reporting that Abbas travelled to London earlier this week to discuss terms with Liverpool.
After SkySport journalist Angelo Mangiante claimed that Salah went personally to Liverpool to finalise the deal, Abbas took to Twitter to deny these claims, confirming that Salah hasn’t left Egypt since returning from Italy at the end of the season.
“M. Salah has not left Egypt since he last arrived there from Rome following the end of the season. #fakenews,” Abbas posted on his Twitter account.
On Friday, it was reported that Liverpool had a £28m offer for the Egyptian international turned down by Roma, with the Italian side insisting they won’t sell him for less than €40 million [£35 million].
It was also reported that the former Chelsea winger has already agreed a £90,000-a-week contract with the Premier League side, which is almost double what he currently makes with the Serie A side.
The 24-year-old was one of the main reasons behind the Giallorossi finishing second in Serie A, scoring 15 goals and providing 13 assists in 31 league appearances.
