OFFICIAL: Al Ahly lodge complaint to FIFA against Souleymane Coulibaly
Al Ahly chairman Mahmoud Taher revealed that the club sent an official complaint to FIFA after Ivorian forward Souleymane Coulibaly travelled to London without the club’s permission.
The Former Tottenham forward was fined after he left Egypt and will surely face heavy punishments once he returns to the club. Dan Chapman, sports lawyer and senior partner at Full Contact – the agency that represents Coulibaly – denied that the Ivorian player is intending to leave Al Ahly, but he is got a family emergency to deal with.
Taher assured that the club’s legal advisor Helmy Abdel-Razek conducted a full report regarding all that concerns the player and sent it to FIFA to preserve the club’s rights. The president pointed out that Al Ahly’s case is strong as the player has no late dues and was not exposed to any type of injustice during his time with the Red Devils.
He also denied news saying that Al Ahly received offers for Coulibaly from other English clubs. He confirmed however that the player’s agent called him and told Taher that Coulibaly would like to terminate his contract.
