El-Badry: Coulibaly’s departure won’t affect us
Al Ahly head coach Hossam El-Badry denied that Souleymane Coulibaly‘s sudden and unexpected absence will have any effect on the team.
The Red Devils recently took the 22-year-old player to FIFA after he left Egypt and traveled to London without informing El-Badry or anyone in the club. The player later issued a controversial statement in which he claimed to be mistreated and that his family didn’t feel comfortable practicing Christianity in Egypt.
El-Badry denied that Coulibaly’s absence and problems will affect other players or the team’s performance. “This will surely not affect us,” the coach told the press on Sunday. “I don’t think about Coulibaly and his case anymore. Only the board will be dealing with this issue.”
Al Ahly managed to defeat Moroccan side Wydad Casablanca 2-0 in the CAF Champions League in Borg El Arab stadium in Alexandria.
