Egypt locals national team beat Libya in friendly
Egypt locals national team defeated Libya 1-0 in a friendly match played on Monday in Petrosport stadium.
The Pharaohs faced Libya as part of their preparations for their 2018 Africa Nations Championship (CHAN) qualifier against Morocco next August. Egypt also defeated Yemen 1-0 in another friendly in May.
Former Zamalek player Wagih Abdel-Azim scored the match’s only goal in the 65th minute of the game.
The team was also supposed to face Ghana in June as part of the preparations but the match was canceled as confirmed by Egypt’s coach Hany Ramzy.
Egypt will clash with Morocco on August 11 in Cairo before facing them one week later in Morocco, with the winner qualifying for the final tournament in Kenya.
