Liverpool seek alternatives to Mohamed Salah – Report
Liverpool are reportedly considering other targets should a deal to sign AS Roma winger Mohamed Salah fall through.
The Egypt international have been strongly linked with a move to the Premier League side over the past week, with reports claiming that a £28 million bid has already been rejected for the AS Roma winger, who scored 15 goals and contributed 13 assists in 31 Serie A games last season.
It’s been reported that the Giallorossi want €40 million [£35 million] for the 24-year-old while the Reds remain reluctant to meet Roma’s asking price, which could see Liverpool edge the current club-record fee of £35m paid to Newcastle United for Andy Carroll in 2011.
Liverpool Echo reported that Jurgen Klopp is now considering other options to bolster his attacking options in case his side failed in their attempts to sign the former Chelsea winger, who has reportedly already agreed a £90,000-a-week contract with the Premier League side, which is almost double what he currently makes with the Serie A side.
Meanwhile, Italian website Pagine Romanista said on Monday that AS Roma have started searching for Salah’s replacement, with Sassuolo’s winger Domenico Berardi being the club’s first-choice target.
