ES Setif were crowned Algerian Ligue Professionnelle 1 champions for the eighth time after defeating MO Béjaïa 0-3 on Wednesday in the 28th fixture.

The Black Eagles won the title two weeks before the Championnat National 1 ends as they are now on top of the table with 54 points, seven points ahead of second-placed Mouloudia Club d’Alger.

MC Alger lost an important match against RC Relizane 2-3 leaving them with only 47 points in second place, which makes it impossible for them to catch up with ES Setif.

JS Kabylie are the most crowned club with 14 Ligue 1 titles followed by the Black Eagles with eight titles and USM Alger with seven titles.
