Sikazwe to take charge of Al Ahly clash vs Wydad

Janny Sikazwe to take charge of Al Ahly clash vs Wydad
Janny Sikazwe has been appointed for Al Ahly’s encounter with Wydad Casablanca in the CAF Champions League group-stages.

The Moroccan side will host Al Ahly on Thursday, June 22, and a win for the Red Devils would guarantee them a place in the Champions League quarter-finals.

Janny Sikazwe, who refereed the final of the 2017 AFCON in Gabon, will be officiating the Red Devils’ crucial match against Wydad, and the Zambian is a good luck charm for the Egyptian Premier League Champions.

Al Ahly have never lost a game with Sikazwe as referee. They beat Armée Patriotique Rwandaise 2-0 in Rwanda in 2015, defeated Cameroon’s Coton Sport 2-1 at home in the semi-finals of the 2014 CAF Confederation Cup, as well as drawing with the latter 0-0 away from home in 2013.

The Red Devils currently top their group in the CAF Champions League with seven points, ahead of Zanaco on goal difference, while Wydad sit third with three points, and Cotton Sport languish at the bottom of the group with 0 points.
