Nabil Maaloul speaks out on Tunisia’s clash with Egypt
Tunisia manager Nabil Maaloul has given his say on Tunisia’s first fixture in the 2019 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers against Egypt.
Tunisia was off to a promising start to their campaign in the preceding AFCON in Gabon after they succeeded in reaching quarterfinals after finishing second ahead of Algeria and below Senegal, who topped the group. However, Les Aigles de Carthage fell short against Burkina Faso in the knockout stage.
Nabil Maaloul’s men are set to start their route towards another AFCON qualification when they face the Pharaohs on Monday night, having also been drawn with Niger and Swaziland in Group J. The 54-year-old coach expects an enthusiastic and tough encounter against Egypt.
During his pre-match press conference, Maaloul also stated that he counts a lot on his players who have shown a big desire to beat Egypt and preface their mission with a victory.
