Lemghaifry to officiate Al Ahly’s clash with Wydad Casablanca
CAF Referees Committee led by Magdy Shams El-Din have appointed Bouchaab Lemghaifry for Al Ahly’s encounter with Wydad Casablanca.
The Moroccan side will host Al Ahly on Thursday, June 22, and a win for the Red Devils would guarantee them a place in the Champions League quarter-finals.
The Mauritanian will officiate the very competitive match in the fourth round of the CAF Champions League group-stages, replacing Zambian referee Janny Sikazwe, who was set to referee the match but was later replaced by Lemghaifry.
Lemghaifry will be assisted by Angola’s Gerson Dos Santos and South Africa’s Zakhele Siwela, while his compatriot Babacar Sarr will be the fourth official.
Al Ahly currently top Group D in the CAF Champions League with seven points, ahead of Zanaco on goal difference, while Wydad sit third with three points, and Cotton Sport languish at the bottom of the group with 0 points.
