OFFICIAL: Everton release Ivorian forward Arouna Koné
English Premier League side Everton have confirmed the names of all released players from the club, and Ivorian forward Arouna Koné is on the list.
Ivory Coast’s Arouna Koné is one of nine Everton players to leave the club after their contract expire at the end of this month, as the Toffees opted against extending his contract for another season.
Koné joined Everton for an estimated fee of £7 million from Wigan Athletic back in 2013, but unfortunately hasn’t played that much during his spell with the Toffees, due to a knee injury which made him far away from first team football for around 400 days.
The 33-year-old Ivorian will leave the Everton, making only 62 appearances while being able to score 10 goals during his four-year stay at the club.
The former Sevilla, PSV, and Levante striker managed to score nine goals in 39 international appearances for Les Éléphants, and was part of the squad that represented Ivory Coast in the 2006 World Cup.
