CAF changes Al Ahly and Wydad match referee for third time

CAF Referees Committee changed the referee appointed for Al Ahly encounter against Wydad Casablanca in the Champions League for the third time.

The Moroccan side will host Al Ahly on June 20 instead of June 21 after CAF moved the date forward. Al Ahly are now joint top of their group with Zanaco at 7 points after beating Wydad in the first leg 2-0, leaving the Moroccan side with 3 points in third, and Cotton Sport languish at the bottom of the group with 0 points.

The committee first appointed the 2017 AFCON final match referee Janny Sikazwe for the match before changing the Zambian referee with Mauritanian Bouchaab Lemghaifry.

CAF decided to change the match’s referee for the third time in a few days and will replace Lemghifry with Algerian referee Mehdi Abid Charef.
