Zamalek target Carlos Salom joins Mexico’s Puebla FC
Chilean club Union Española striker Carlos Salom joined Mexico’s Puebla FC after Zamalek failed to sign the Palestinian international.
Salom was on Zamalek’s radar since January yet both clubs failed to reach a final agreement after Union Española turned down more than one offer for the player.
Zamalek started the bidding process by an initial offer of $200,000 for the player’s services, then the Cairo-based club enhanced their offer to $300,000, which was again rejected as the club president informing Zamalek that they would part ways with their star for $1,000,000.
On the 19th of January, Zamalek made another improved proposal of $600,000 which to be paid on two installments, half of it once the player signs and the other half when the season ends but was again rejected by the club.
The Argentine-born has been in superb form, scoring 39 goals in 104 appearances with Union Española. Salom played and scored in his only match with Palestine which was a friendly against Tajikistan that ended 1-1.
