El-Hadary open to Jameel League move after Saudi FF lifts ban on foreign GKs
Essam El-Hadary expressed his interest in a Jameel League move after the Saudi Football Federation decided to allow clubs to buy foreign goalkeepers as part of the non-domestic four players list.
Essam El-Hadary expressed his approval of this decision and said that this step will not harm the Saudi National Team nor the Saudi League. The Egyptian added that he has won six Best Goalkeeper awards in the continent despite the Egyptian Football Association’s policy of allowing foreign goalkeepers.
The Egyptian goalkeeper told MBC Pro Sports, “All European leagues allow clubs to buy foreign goalkeepers. This is a perfect opportunity for goalkeepers to gain experience and develop.”
El-Hadary added: “After this decision, I’m open to consider any offer from the Saudi league. If the suitable offer arrives, why not hang my gloves in Saudi Arabia?”
This past season, there were four Egyptians plying their trade in Saudi Arabia: Sherif Hazem (Al-Wehda), Ahmed Magdy (Al-Wehda), Mohamed Abdel-Shafy (Al Ahli), Mahmoud Abdel Moneim ‘Kahraba’ (Ittihad FC).
