Salah named AS Roma’s player of the season by Arab supporters
Mohamed Salah has been named AS Roma’s Player of the Season on the club’s Arabic-language website by the club’s supporters.
The Egyptian was nominated for the club’s 2016/2017 player of the season award, following an impressive season at the Italian capital, where he recorded 15 goals and 13 assists in 31 league appearances, which made Jürgen Klopp interested in signing him this Summer.
Salah edged out seven players to claim the award, including Serie A top scorer Edin Džeko, Nainggolan, Federico Fazio, Daniele De Rossi, Palmieri, Kevin Strootman, and Arsenal loanee Wojciech Szczęsny.
Unfortunately, Salah couldn’t win the club’s player of the year award, as Radja Nainggolan gained almost 30% of the votes cast across Roma’s English, Italian and Indonesian websites – narrowly edging out Edin Džeko.
