Zamalek manager Augusto Inácio has spoken ahead of his side’s encounter with USM Alger in the CAF Champions League, insisting they aren’t in a tough situation.

The Whites managed to beat Aswan in the dying moments of the game, but the Portuguese manager wasn’t pleased with all the missed chances.

“We have created so many chances. I know that the team’s problem since my arrival has been the wasted chances, but we will solve it,” Inácio said.

“Against USM Alger, we created five chances and they were all missed and to make matters worse, we conceded once. In Algeria we will create two chances and we have to score at least once. The game is very tough.

“We aren’t in a tough situation. We currently top the group. Our aim is to reach 11 points, which would guarantee us a place in the quarter-finals.

“When I took over at Zamalek, they were 14 points behind the second place, but now we are only four points away. I have managed Zamalek in 13 games, won 11 and drew two,” he added.

The Whites will travel to Algeria to face USM Alger in the fourth round of the CAF Champions League group-stages on Wednesday, June 21 at Stade du 5 Juillet.

Zamalek currently top group B with 5 points, one ahead of USM Alger and Al-Ahli Tripoli, who sit second and third respectively, while CAPS United lie in fourth place with only three points.
