EFA trim squad sizes, open to new sponsors
The board of directors of the Egyptian Football Federation (EFA) released a statement on Monday announcing that they will listen to new bids to sponsor the activities of the federation for the next 5 years.
The federation will allow three companies which previously participated in the cancelled auction to join again without any additional financial burdens.
This statement, which will be published on Sunday 18 June, 2017, will include the legal procedures, terms, conditions and the new bidding date.
The board of directors, headed by Hany Abu Rida, also decided in its meeting to allow the registration of 25 players on each list for every club in the coming season 2017-2018.
This will give the clubs the freedom to sign any number of players without a listing them in their roster, and this decision will allow the clubs to register 25 players born in 1997.
In addition to that, the board of directors decided to end both of the league and cup tournaments before the beginning of the clubs’ registration in August.
Majdi Abdel Ghani, a member of the federation’s board of directors, also announced that the board will hold a meeting soon with Héctor Cúper, the national team’s manager, to sort out the team’s preparation for the next crucial phase of the 2018 World Cup qualifiers.
