El-Badry: We want to beat Wydad and secure qualification
Al Ahly head coach Hossam El-Badry assured that his men will be aiming to defeat Wydad Casablanca in Morocco and secure a spot in the next round.
The Red Devils will face the Moroccan side on Tuesday, June 20. Al Ahly currently top the group with seven points, ahead of Zanaco on goal difference, while Wydad Athletic sit third with three points, and Cotton Sport languish at the bottom of the group with zero points.
“We aim to win this game and snatch the three points in order to secure an early spot in the quarter-finals,” El-Badry told the press on Monday. “I know Wydad’s strength and weakness points and I will try to use all of what I know about the team to win the match.”
As for dealing with Wydad’s fans and the pressure they might add to Al Ahly’s mission, the 57-year-old said: “Our players have enough experience to deal with such situations.”
The coach announced his 24-man squad for the crucial clash excluding only three players.
