EXCLUSIVE | English clubs to battle over Egypt international Ahmed Hegazy
Egypt and Al Ahly center-back Ahmed Hegazy is courted by two English clubs ahead of a potential summer move, KingFut can confirm.
26-year-old Ahmed Hegazy is emerging as a potential summer transfer target for two clubs in England following his recent displays after his return from his short stint with Italy’s Fiorentina.
KingFut can confirm English Premier League club West Bromwich Albion sent scouts to watch Hegazy in action two weeks ago as Al Ahly hosted Wydad Casablana in Egypt and were seemed to be impressed with his cameo following his return from injury, sources close to Al Ahly revealed.
Hegazy was again under the spotlight after Hull City coach Leonid Slutsky was spotted yesterday watching Al Ahly take on Wydad Casablanca in the CAF Champions League, with the ‘Egyptian Nesta’ garnering his attention as the Red Devils succumbed to a 2-0 defeat.
Hegazy joined Fiorentina from Ismaily in the summer of 2012 spending three years in Italy, including a loan stint at Serie B outfits Perugia before mutually terminating his contract to join Africa’s biggest club Al Ahly.
It is worth mentioning that Ahmed Hegazy made CAF’s 2017 Africa Cup of Nations Team of the Tournament as he helped Egypt reach the final.
