Zamalek announce squad to face CAPS United in CAF Champions League

Zamalek head manager Augusto Inacio announced Zamalek’s squad list for CAPS United clash in the fifth round of the CAF Champions League.

Inacio decided to exclude Bassem Morsi for technical reasons while the list included Ayman Hefny and Hossam Paulo after both players recovered from their last injuries.

Tarek Hamed will not be able to join the squad after receiving a red card in the last round. Also, Eslam Gamal, Ahmed Gafaar and Osama Ibrahim were not called up by Inacio for technical reasons.

The White Knights will head to Zimbabwe on Thursday as they get ready to face CAPS United on Sunday. Inacio chose a 21-man list and will be excluding three players before the game.

The travelling squad will include the following:

Goalkeepers: Ahmed El-Shennawy, Omar Salah.

Defenders: Ahmed Abo El-Fotouh, Mohamed Nassef, Hosni Fathi, Ali Gabr, Mahmoud Hamdy El-Wensh, Mohamed Magdy and Shawky El-Said.

Midfielders: Ahmed Tawfik, Moruf Yusuf, Ibrahim Salah, Salah Rico, Mahmoud Dunga, Mostafa Fathi, Ayman Hefny, Mohamed Ibrahim and Mahmoud Abdel-Razek Shikabala.

Forwards: Hossam Paulo, Stanley and Emmanuel Mayuka.

Zamalek dropped to third place in Group B after suffering a 2-0 defeat against USM Alger in the last round.

In addition to being a hardcore football fan, Abdelrahman is a communications enthusiast who works in marketing, advertising, content creation and PR.
