Table Tennis: Al Ahly women crowned African champions

Al Ahly women’s table tennis team have won the 2017 Africa Club Championships in Morocco after beating Nigerian side Canaan Queens in the final.

The Red Devils earned a 3-1 victory over the Nigerian team in the game that was held in Agadir on Friday to retain the African title, which they had won in 2015 in Yaoundé, Cameroon.

Al Ahly were represented in the tournament held between June 28 and June 30 by Dina Meshref, Yousra Ashraf and Romania’s Daniela Montiero.

The Cairo giants finished on top of their group, which included RBM of Morocco, and Commercial Bank of Ethiopia after claiming victories over both teams. They then defeated ACB of Algeria 3-0 in the semi-final before beating Canaan Queens in the final.
