Table Tennis: Al Ahly men crowned African champions


Al Ahly men’s  team have been crowned champions of 2017 Africa Club Championships in Morocco after beating ENPPI in the final on Friday.

The all-Egyptian final was held in Agadir, Morocco and the Red Devils managed to come out on top, beating the Petroleum club 3-1.

The African Champions were represented in the continental final by El-Sayed Lashin, Omar Assar and Nigeria’s Quadri Aruna.

Al Ahly finished on top of their group, defeating both Morocco’s CAFC and Seychelles of Seychelles, before beating Aqua of Morocco and RC Arbaâ of Algeria in the quarter-finals and semi-finals respectively.

It’s worth mentioning Al Ahly women’s table tennis team have also been crowned African champions after beating Nigerian side Canaan Queens 3-1 in the final.
