Morocco’s Younes Belhanda joins Galatasaray
Moroccan attacking midfielder Younes Belhanda has joined Turkish giants Galatasaray from Ukranian side Dynamo Kiev on a four-year deal.
Belhanda spent last season on loan at Nice from Dynamo Kiev and successfully helped the club snatch a UEFA Champions League spot after finishing third in the French top tier Ligue 1. However, Nice turned down an option to purchase the 27-year-old deeming him too expensive.
The French-born started his senior career with Montpellier in 2009 and ended up making 144 appearances and scoring 29 goals for the club and was part of the team that won the French Ligue 1 title.
In 2013, the Moroccan international moved to Dynamo Kiev on a five-year deal where he won the Ukrainian League and two Cup titles. He also had loan stints at Schalke and Nice.
Igor Tudor’s men finished fourth in the Turkish top tier and will be returning to the Europa League next season.
