Swiss side Grasshoppers in advanced talks with Amr Warda
Swiss Super League side Grasshoppers are in advanced talks with PAOK over the transfer of Egypt international Amr Warda, according to Greek reports.
The move seems likely to happen especially after Grasshoppers expressed their interest in landing the 24-year-old Egyptian midfielder from PAOK.
The two sides have begun talking about the possibility of loaning the player for the next year with an option to buy in the year after, and Warda appears to be positive about the transfer.
The Egyptian did not join the team’s training camp in Holland since negotiations are ongoing between PAOK and the Swiss club.
If successful, Warda will become the second Egyptian player to sign for Grasshoppers, after Mahmoud Kahraba, who represented the Swiss side in 2014.
Warda has had quite a decent spell at PAOK last season, as he was able to hit the back of the net two times while handing in three assists in 14 matches.
Grasshoppers’ last season was a one to forget as the club ended up in the bottom three of the table (seventh place), managing only 10 wins out of 36 games.
