Sami Hyypiä: Salah has developed from the Chelsea days
Liverpool’s Finnish legend Sami Hyypiä believes that Salah is a totally different player now compared to when he was at Stamford Bridge.
The Egyptian joined the Reds from Serie A runners-up Roma on a long-term deal, becoming the club’s record signing, and the former Bayer Leverkusen manager thinks Salah has developed since departing Chelsea in 2015.
“The signing of Salah, it’s an offensive move and his strengths are on the offensive side of the game and he will give some pace in the front as well – and when I think that he and Mane are in the same side,” Hyypiä told 5times.
“The back four of the opposition can be a little bit worried about their pace and everything, so it’s an offensive move.”
He added: “I think Salah has developed from the Chelsea days that Chelsea maybe couldn’t get his level right and he was on loan at a few other clubs to get experience.
“I think he’s a better player than a few years ago at Chelsea so definitely strengthens the team,” he concluded.
The fans at Anfield can’t wait for the new season to start just to watch Coutinho gliding in through balls to the whopping pace of Mohamed Salah, whose last season was the best season of his career, after managing to score 15 goals whilst handing in 13 assists with Serie A runner-ups AS Roma.
