Al Ahly chairman Mahmoud Taher revealed that FIFA are yet to send Al Ahly any updates regarding Souleymane Coulibaly’s case.

The Ivorian forward walked out on the Egyptian Premier League champions and traveled to London without the clubs’ permission in May before accusing the Red Devils of treating him like a slave.

Al Ahly denied the Coulibaly’s allegations and lodged a complaint with FIFA against the player.

Taher stressed that there are no attempts to solve the issue and that they insist on preserving the club’s rights. He added that Al Ahly is yet to receive a response from FIFA.

“This was a reckless action. I might not know everything, but from my point of view, the player might have faced some pressure that I don’t know about, which led him to flee Egypt,” said Taher in an interview with Al Ahly TV.

One day after Coulibaly issued a statement alleging that he departed the Red Castle following ill treatment from his teammates, Full Contact agency, representatives of the player, announced terminating their contract with the Ivorian player.

The Al Ahly chairman insisted that the 22-year-old player can’t play temporarily for any other club as long as the investigations are ongoing.

The former Tottenham forward joined the Cairo giants last January from Scottish side Kilmarnock after nearly joining arch-rivals Zamalek. Al Ahly’s player of the month for April has made 12 appearances for the Reds, scoring six league goals.
