Former England coach Hodgson comments on Salah’s move to Liverpool
England’s former head manager Roy Hodgson spoke about Mohamed Salah’s move to Liverpool and mentioned the effect of his previous unsuccessful spell with Chelsea.
Salah signed a 36.9 million GBP five-year contract with the Reds becoming the most expensive African and Arab player breaking Liverpool’s transfer record. The deal was positively backed by former Liverpool players like Luis Garcia, Patrik Berger, Sami Hyypia, Craig Bellamy and Paul Ince.
“The interesting thing is that player come to the Premier League and then they are regarded as not being successful so they go away, play in another league and then get pulled back again,” Hodgson said commenting on Salah’s previous two-year spell with Chelsea. “Maybe we don’t give them enough time.”
Liverpool fans are excited for the new season that will feature distinguished forwards like Philippe Coutinho, Adam Lallana, Sadio Mane, Roberto Firmino and the young Pharaoh. Salah’s last season was the best season of his career, after managing to score 15 goals whilst handing in 13 assists with Serie A runner-ups AS Roma.
