South Africa captain Steven Pienaar has completed a return to his homeland after his move to Bidvest Wits was confirmed on Wednesday.
Pienaar joined Bidvest on a free transfer after he was released by Premier League side Sunderland, having spent just one season with the Black Cats.
Bidvest, who are competing with Egyptian Premier League side Smouha in their CAF Confederations Cup group, have announced the signing of the 35-year-old winger on a one-year contract, with an option for a further year.
Pienaar has returned to Africa after spending several years in Europe playing for the likes of Ajax, Tottenham Hotspur, Everton and finally Sunderland.
