OFFICIAL: Martinez joins Real España on free transfer from ENPPI
Honduras international Mario Martinez has officially joined Real C.D. España of Honduras following the termination of his contract with ENPPI.
The 27-year-old had 12 months still to run on his deal with the Petroleum club, but he wanted to return to his home country after just two years in Egypt.
Mario scored seven goals and provided 12 assists in 49 appearances during his time at ENPPI, guiding them to the semi-finals of Egypt Cup in his first season.
He will return to Real C.D. España, the club where it all started for him. He helped them lift Honduran Liga Nacional in 2007, before moving to Europe.
Martinez has played league football in Honduras, Norway, Belgium, United States, and Ecuador before joining ENPPI as his former clubs include Real España, Vålerenga, Anderlecht, Seattle Sounders FC, and Barcelona SC.
With 66 international appearnces to his name, Martinez will be hoping his wealth of experience can help his new club clinch their 12th league title.
