Ibrahim Salah stresses importance of Ahli Tripoli clash
Zamalek vice-captain Ibrahim Salah has stressed the importance of his side’s crucial match against Ahly Tripoli on Sunday.
Zamalek will play their final CAF Champions League group stage match on Sunday at Borg El Arab on Sunday, against Libyan side Ahly Tripoli.
The White Knights find themselves in a difficult position, sitting in fourth place with five points. A win would be the only way for Zamalek to have a chance to qualify to the quarterfinals.
“The game is an opportunity to reconcile with the fans, especially since we will fight to qualify for the last eight,” Salah began.
“The players are aware of the amount of responsibility on them in the current period. They will play for the win,” he emphasized.
“The older players have a big role in supporting the younger ones before the game,” the midfielder concluded.
Zamalek finished as runners-up in 2016, and last won the competition in 2002.
